CURRICULUM VITAE Del ProF. ANTONIO LECCISOTTI

 

E’ nato a Piacenza il 7.7.1960.

Ha conseguito la Maturità Classica a Roma nel 1979 con 60/60.
Si è laureato in Medicina e Chirurgia alla Sapienza di Roma nel 1986 con 110/110 e lode.
Si è specializzato in Oculistica a Siena nel 1990 con 70/70 e lode.
Ha ottenuto il titolo di Dottore di Ricerca in Patologia Oculare a Siena nel 1997.
Ha ottenuto il Master in Cataract and Refractive Surgery dall’University of Ulster (Gran Bretagna) nel 2015.

Dal 2007 è Visiting Professor all’University of Ulster (Gran Bretagna) , dove insegna al corso per Master in Chirurgia della Cataratta e Refrattiva.

Dal 2015 è Professore di Chirurgia Refrattiva presso la Scuola di Specializzazione in Oftalmologia dell'Università di Siena.

Ha svolto ricerca scientifica presso l’ Università di Siena (dal 1988 al 1997), presso la Casa di Cura Rugani di Siena (dal 1998 al 2006) e per l' University of Ulster (dal 2007 a oggi), pubblicando articoli originali sulle maggiori riviste scientifiche europee e americane (vedi pubblicazioni).

 

E' editor e autore del libro Keratoconus Surgery and Cross-linking (2009), coautore dei libri Presbyopia Surgery (2006) e Mastering Corneal Collagen Cross-linking Techniques (2009), editor del volume Keratoconus and Keratoectasia: Advancements in Diagnosis and Treatment (2011).

 

E’ Scientific Reviewer per le riviste Ophthalmology (USA), American Journal of Ophthalmology (USA), British Journal of Ophthalmology (GB), Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (USA), Journal of Refractive Surgery (USA), Cornea (USA), Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging (USA), Hong Kong Journal of Ophthalmology, Indian Journal of Ophthalmology, Graefe's Archive (Germania).

 

Fa parte dell' Editorial Board del World Journal of Ophthalmology.

 

Ha vinto il Premio STUEMO per la ricerca oculistica nel 1994, il Premio Kelman per l'innovazione in oculistica nel 2009, il Premio per Responsabile del miglior Reparto Oculistico nel 2009, il premio della British Society for Refractive Surgery nel 2010 e nel 2012.

 

Ha organizzato e insegnato a corsi di chirurgia refrattiva e del cheratocono per la ESCRS (Soc. Europ. Chir. Cataratta e Refratt.), la ASCRS (Soc. Americ. Chir. Cataratta e Refratt.), la American Academy of Ophthalmology (USA), e la Società Italiana di Chirurgia Refrattiva, a Monaco, Parigi, San Francisco, San Diego, Las Vegas, Berlino, Chicago e in Italia.

 

Ha pubblicato per primo al mondo le seguenti tecniche di chirurgia refrattiva:
1. lenti fachiche ad appoggio angolare nel cheratocono (J Cataract Refractive Surg);
2. lenti fachiche ad appoggio angolare + PRK (bioptics), per le miopie elevate con astigmatismo elevato (Eur J Ophthalmol );
3. PRK con mitomicina per l’ipermetropia (J Cataract Refractive Surg);
4. lensectomia nel cheratocono (J Cataract Refractive Surg);
5. PRK con mitomicina dopo cheratoplastica lamellare (Cornea);
6. Cross-linking transepiteliale (J Refractive Surgery);

7. Femto-lasik su precedente cheratotomia radiale (J Cataract Refractive Surg).

La sua casistica operatoria comprende oltre 55mila interventi con laser a eccimeri (PRK, LASEK, LASIK, SBK, femto-LASIK), oltre 13mila interventi sul cristallino, oltre 1500 impianti di lenti fachiche, oltre 500 interventi di cheratoplastica (perforante/lamellare).

E' stato Responsabile dell’Unità Operativa di Oculistica della Casa di Cura Rugani di Siena dal 1998 al 2011, quando ha fondato ed è Direttore del centro di chirurgia refrattiva laser Siena Eye Laser.
